Join a Kauai whale watching expedition along the island’s southern coastline on one of the fastest tour boats around! The Pacific humpback whales make their three thousand mile journey from Alaska each winter to play, birth their young and search for mates in the warm, protected waters of the Hawaiian Islands. This means that they are in their most active state, ready to put on a show!

Get ready for fin slaps as both mom and new calves appear to wave at the boat. See some of the more aggressive whale behavior in competition pods, where the male whales head lunge and tail slap to impress the females. And of course, prepare for the incredible acrobatics of breaching whales, when they launch themselves out of the water before your eyes.

The incredible speed and maneuverability of your 24-foot rigid raft will have you Kauai whale watching in no time. No other tour will be as up close and personal as this. Marvel at the sheer size of these creatures in their natural habitat. Prepare the camera and get ready to snap the perfect photo when the whale does a “fluke up” dive. This means you may not see them for a while, as they hold their breath for up to twenty minutes. Not to worry though, there are lots of opportunities for Kauai whale watching in these waters during the winter months.

There is perhaps no more ideal setting than to observe these creatures with rainbows and the Kauai island coastline in the background. What an exciting way to learn about the marine life in the area while getting some amazing photo and video footage to share with friends and family.

When April rolls around, the majestic animals begin their long journey back home. They’ll be back next year like clockwork with a new whale song but the same whale dance.
