The boats today are larger and much more comfortable. They provide ample seating and lots of shade to protect from the island sun. The 90 minute Kauai Fern Grotto Tour takes you along the fertile banks of the Wailua River, an area that gets its water from one of the wettest spots on Planet Earth! After a gentle passage up the river, you’ll come to a landing site. Here you’ll disembark and take a short nature walk along the trails to the fern grotto. The ancient lava flows have created a natural amphitheater here, where the fern plants grow from the ceiling. Take a moment here to admire the natural wonder created delicately over time. The guides will share with you the history of the land and its people. Enjoy traditional songs as you are serenaded by guitar and ukulele music.
