The impressive 17-mile shoreline on the north side of Kauai presents the perfect setting for a snorkel and sightseeing quest. Set out on a 24-foot rigid inflatable raft with only a small group of 14 passengers and crew. The boat is similar to those used by Navy Seals, and is known for a smooth and steady ride. Because the vessel has excellent maneuverability, your tour is able to find snorkel destinations that are otherwise unreachable. The five and a half hour journey with Kauai Sea Tours follows in and out of the rocky basalt coast, into sea caves and under waterfalls. Admire the 4000-foot sea cliffs that have been carved out by the falls and streams over hundreds of years, leaving the peaks razor sharp.
Your snorkel adventure will provide the snorkel equipment and floatation devices. You’ll also have the expertise of the crew on board to help with snorkel technique and point you in the right direction for sea turtles and abundant marine life. While the humpback whales are in season from November to April, watch them play and leap from the warm Hawaiian waters. You’ll also hopefully catch sight of the wild dolphins, which live here year round. Spinner dolphins travel in pods of nearly 100 animals and are not timid creatures. They happily swim right up to the boats, and surf the bow and the wake! Watch them literally launch from the water and perform their acrobatic twirls. Their energy and merriment is contagious! A dolphin encounter is one of the most special memories you’ll take home with you from the Islands.
